Fuerteventura

L'isola di Fuerte, seconda per grandezza nell’arcipelago delle canarie, è completamente brulla ed offre paesaggi pieni di vulcani non più attivi ed immense pianure desertiche. I due paesi principali dell'isola sono la capitale Puerto del Rosario, al centro della costa Est, quella rivolta al Marocco, e Corralejo a Nord-Est . Per il resto moltissimi paesini stile Mexico con case basse e bianche.

Il clima è di tipo subtropicale desertico, dista infatti solo 84 km dal continente africano. Le temperature variano poco durante il corso dell’anno, in estate fra i 24/29 °C, ed in inverno tra i 21/27 °C. La temperatura dell’acqua è 18/23 °C. La scarsa umidità dell’aria rende l’arcipelago ideale per i soggetti allergici ed asmatici.
I mesi migliori per il vento sono da Marzo fino a metà Agosto, periodo in cui gli alisei da nord dominano. Ovviamente il resto dell’anno è più adatto alla pratica del surf da onda.

Flag Beach
Fotografico Spot a Nord-Est. Vento Side-Side Off da sinistra 15- 27 nodi. Qui è possibile trovare acqua piatta o mare mosso. Lo spot è frequentato sia da Wind Surf che Kite. Il bellissimo tramonto colora di rosso il vulcano dell'isoletta di Lobos, e l'atmosfera è magica.
El Cotillo
Puramente oceanico, con uno serio shore break. In inverno onde da paura. Il vento è rafficato e molto difficile, come in tutta l'isola. Direzione Side Side On 18 - 30 nodi. El Cotillo è sulla costa Ovest che offre svariati spot molto simili per Kite e Wind.
Esquinzo
10 minuti più a sud del Cotillo, grandissimo spot per il Surf da onda.
Sotavento
Località a sud con una spiaggia di fine sabbia dorata lunga chilometri e chilometri. Questo posto è un autentica machina del vento. Infatti spara fino a 40 nodi di vento off shore. Acqua piatta e vento per tutti i gusti. Infatti il vento è accelerato da una montagna nel retro a forma di seni. Il vento proveniente dall'atlantico 15-20 nodi si incanala e viene schiacciato sul mare. Più ci si allontana dalla costa e più forte è il vento. Non preoccupatevi c'è un efficientissimo sevizio di recupero in mare.

The island of Fuerte, second largest of Canaries, is completely bleak, with sleeping vulkans and larges flat deserts. The main towns are Corralejo on the north-east shore and puerto del Rosario, the capital on the coast facing Marok, the east one. Hoses are low and white, mexico style.

The weather is a typical desertical subtropic, as the africa is so close, no more than 84 km. Temperatures varies little during the year; 24/29 C° the air in the summer, 21/27° at winter time. The water 18/23 C.

Best period for the wind goes from March to the half of August. There are many spots, but we're going to mention only th main ones below.

SPOTS

Flag Beach
Spot a Nord-Est, one of the most photografed. Side-Side Off wind from the left 15- 27 knots. Flat water or rough are both typical. Wind Surf & Kite spot . The gorgeous sunset paints of red the vulkan of the island of Lobos, and the feelin is magic.
El Cotillo
Pure ocean, with a serius shore break. Big waves at winter time. The wind is very gusty and difficult, as in the whole island. Direction Side Side On 18 - 30 knots. El Cotillo is on the West cost that has many similar spots for kiting and windsurfing.
Esquinzo
10 minuts souther tha the Cotillo, serious surf spot.
Sotavento
Located in the south with a fine golden sand that runs for few kilometers. this place is a real wind machine, that can reach 40 knots with off shore direction. Flat water and wind of every kind. Coming from the Atlantic at about 15-20 knos gets empowered by the channel between the mountains and pushed on the see. The more oof shore you go, more is the wind speed but don't worry the rescue team is ...very expert.
